Re: Short Run Feedback
Big delay after take off, especially for such a low grip and short run. You are over exaggerating holding the trail leg back which delays the inversion. Good luck!

Re: Bending Trail Leg?
You really aren't bending your trail leg all that much and in my opinion isn't your biggest problem at the moment. I do see that you are very rigid with your left(bottom) arm which does not allow you to drive your chest up and through the takeoff. The following image is more what you want to aim fo...

I just cant seem to figure out how to push the pole upwards while im upside down. If you are inverted why would you push ...

Re: Trend towards longer, softer poles?
It appears that NCAA vaulters ( both Male and Female) are being coached to use long, light poles with lower hand grip. We have seen so Many videos of the latest NCAA jumpers that show so many vaulters with a grip 1foot or more below the pole sticker and the poles appear pretty soft. Are coaches cre...

Re: What does the bottom arm do????
If you try to drive the chest or do anything that the 6.40 model talks about everything gets screwed up There is nothing in the 6.40 model that advocates driving the chest. Just the opposite actually, just like stiff poling-no hang or drive. This is all from my experimentation I have no scientific ...

Re: What does the bottom arm do????
The 6.40 model is not exactly the petrov model. Most elements are the same but some are not. Petrov wrote......... Recommendations for the take-off phase: g 2. Before the take-off leg contacts the ground the vaulter needs to create a maximum space between him and the pole. dj This would be the same ...

Re: What does the bottom arm do????
Ok gypsy I started this thread a while back to see what people thought the bottom arm is supposed to do. I really wanted to see what people thought and why. As in why does it push? Or why does it do nothing? I have let this thread run its course and as many threads on the site do it has turned sour....
