Re: Which states have middle school vault?

Missouri has junior high (7th and 8th grade) vault. Iowa, on the other hand, is a progressive state. They have no pole vault in middle school or high school.

Re: Poles for Sale in Florida

I think I have all the 14' poles. If under 155 lb., they are $125 each. I'm not home right now, so can't tell you much more without having my wife do some research.

Re: How can I improve?

You don't have to be running that fast at your current level. Control is more important. You can develop this control doing 1, 2, or 3 step vault on the grass (hold low). Also, take short approaches and vault into the long jump pit. Grass and sand vaulting should be part of every workout. Eight feet...

Re: Best Pole for an Old Fat Guy

Anything is a guess, but I agree with your instincts. The 14' 185 lb. seems like as good a choice as any. In my late 40's, I weighed about 163 and held about 14' on a 15' 160 lb. And I never was very fast. I would be very surprised if that 14' 185 is too soft, unless you stick with it for a couple o...

Re: Poles for Sale in Florida

The two small poles--$75 each, but are not properly labeled.
I don't have any 175 lb., but I have an ESSX 14'7" 178.2 lb. in pristine condition for $250.
I'm in Palm Coast, just up the road from you.

Re: Vaulters Block

I have run into a block when my takeoff was right on the mark. It sometimes turned out that I was overstriding to steer myself to the takeoff spot. I moved in a foot and a half, and everthing started clicking.

Re: skypole ez-flex legal in high school competition???

If he is clearing incredible heights, something is wrong and probably unsafe. We need to abolish such poles from High School competition!
