Re: Regionals rant!! Other coaches please comment!!
The original regionals format was an actual regional championship meet but many of the top programs complained that they didn't like having their athletes compete at a high level two times in a row so they petitioned the NCAA for the current format.

Re: Irwin 5.60m at Texas State
Unfortunately, I didn't get to go but I'd guess it was a pretty bad crosswind from the right side. There was a strong north breeze most of the day. They're supposed to add a north-south runway but they'll probably get to it in 10 years or so.

Re: Regionals rant!! Other coaches please comment!!
Regionals isn't, according to the NCAA, a meet. It's the qualifying round for nationals and in qualifying rounds the comp is stopped once the qualifiers weed themselves out.

Re: Need Help with New Pit
You can build a simple frame for under the back pieces of the pit out of 2x4 just make sure it does not extend outside of the pit...i'd make it about 1'6" smaller in each dimension to assure it won't ever be exposed. Frame it like a wall..maybe 18" on center between the studs with a 1' wid...

I hope they pick Doha with their JUL-SEPT average highs of 105+ and lows of 85+ just to hear the crying from distance runners.

Re: Top ten College Pole Vault Programs in the country
maybe this thread has been played out but just in case- the lists need to be updated. The University of South Dakota has come on strong the last two years and now have 2 young 14' girls. The only school to have 2 vaulters in the top 8 at NCAA's. Their guys are on the move as well. A program to keep...

Re: USA List.. 6M-4.80M
Well, the newest 6 meter member has done at age 33 I think everyone missed where I was referring to vaulters that cleared 6m more than once . A WR will not be set by a vaulter with a single 6m vault and it will not be set by someone that first clears 5.80 in the late 20s and 6.00 in their 30s. The ...
