Re: About to transition to 15'7 pole advice on making it easier?

Well a 15ft 15.8 is going to be equivalent to a 15'6 18.2. That's why I was asking what your flex differences were on your other poles... I'm assuming .6? (17.0, 16.4, 15.8?) So if that's the case and you want to keep it at .6 then you would want a 15'6 17.6. Move your grip up 1.5 to 2 inches at the...

Re: About to transition to 15'7 pole advice on making it easier?

How much are you wanting to move your grip up to the first 15'7 pole? What flex differences are your 15ft poles?

Re: 9 left hurt? Or help?

I'm a college coach and I wouldn't mind seeing a kid going from 9lefts, you gotta get them there eventually... So you would already be developing a feel from 9. And no college coach is going to be more interested in a kid jumping 16ft from 7 than a kid jumping 17ft from 9... I don't know who told yo...

Eastern Illinois pole vault camp June 18th-20th

Mark your calendars if you want to attend our 2.5 day pole vault camp at Eastern Illinois University. This camp has grown each year and it's a lot of fun. I will have several of my athletes helping out including two 17'10 guy pole vaulters (hopefully 18+ soon) and possibly our women's school record ...

Re: Help with pole transitions

Thanks Becca, that's why I said if we are talking about Pacer poles.

Pv2020, I think Ucs flexed 4.75 poles on a 4.90 span. So taking what I know from pacer poles that would make 4.60 (15.0) roughly equivelant to a 19.6- on a 4.90 scale...

Re: Help with pole transitions

Altius, I only raise their grips when moving to stiffer pole keeping the end ex the same. So the pole isn't softer or stiffer, juts a longer lever to rotate. That's why I am trying to figure out the exact flex transition so I know how much to move their grip. And pv2020 if we are talking about pacer...

Re: Help with pole transitions

Thanks CD, and yes I know poles transitions on 4.90 poles and down pretty well. I didn't use the weight of the pole for a reason, I think it's irrelevant. What I am wanting is to find a 5 meter pole that's going to feel about .4 bigger than a 4.90 (14.5). The problem CD is that I think 4.90 and 5.00...

Help with pole transitions

I have never had any of my kids jump on 5m poles. I don't know what pole to move to next.
For example if we have a 4.90 (14.5 flex) and I want a 5m pole that would be the equivalent to a 4.90 (14.1), what size pole would that be?
Thanks for any help
