Re: getting more power into the run

Morning, Kinda a loaded question, for vaulters who trying to hit that 5.30, 40, 50 mark small important technical changes are generally the key. Assuming that off the ground technical work is sound, the two things that I think are important for power at take off... Sprint technique, and pole drop. T...

Re: Segmented Season

You are asking something that is specially dictated by the NCAA. Practices can start counting backwards X amount of weeks from championship time. Some schools don't allow teams to travel during finals time so even if you just had a meet on the 3rd, they are gearing up for finals, so they may not be ...

Re: Ex All-American Looking For Coaching Job

http://www.ustfccca.org - This is a major post for NCAA track and field jobs. Under the jobs link... very good resource. http://www.ncaa.org - go to careers in ncaa, and search for jobs this is any job open in the ncaa... so finding T/F may be more difficult... but even with volunteer jobs, you will...

Re: Bolt not that special?

Yes... stride length x stride frequency = speed... The article was dealt to the lay public. The simple numbers of sprinting, we also need to think about sprint technique. He does have better sprint technique than the majority of the public... Meshed with an ability to sprint and have longer stride t...

Re: first film in a while

From the pole run: your sprint technique needs a tick of work, you have movement which is good, however you are not extending your legs as if it were a full run, this is not uncommon for newer collegiate vaulters... (or runners for that matter) Sprint technique knowledge is getting better, and we tr...

Re: Weight lifting low reps high weights?

The human body responds differently to different types of training. Body builders are training differently than Olympic power lifters (or pole vaulters), both are lifting, but both are lifting differently. Furthermore, you shouldn't just train one way, the body needs change over time as the season g...

Re: Good meet warm-up?

morning, obviously there are different types of warm ups, things that work for me may not work for you... so just keep that in mind. For me, I like to start warming up 90 min before the scheduled start time (this all takes about 10-15 min of easy movement) First I do some bare foot feet strengthenin...

Re: Free Take off

C'mon... Flawed... you are talking about the two jumpers who have the highest clearances in the history of the world... there are a handful of other differences between these jumpers, not to mention a lifetime of training that lead to both theses jumps, but to say that one is flawed is just kinda....
