Re: 2013 World Championships standards released: 5.70/4.60

They updated it.... Oct. 1 2012 thru July 29th 2013. Next will be when the USATF shuts down chasing marks. My assumption mid July will be cutoff to hit standard. So as of today we have no one with an A or B standard. Second question will be will they only take A Standards or will a B standard get to...

Re: USA List.. 6M-4.80M

I don't want to give away all my tips for free :D I will say very few are here in the US. Secondly, you need to be my assumpition top 20 minimal in the world and a powerful agent to even sniff the meet. Thirdly, you better have near a 4.70 PR for the meet Director to even want you there. Fourth, you...

Re: USA List.. 6M-4.80M

I see no one other than Whitt with the potential to jump 6m+. He will have to progress faster than he has in college though. Off the top of my head, I think every vaulter that has cleared 6m more than once had a PR higher than 5.80 at age 23 except for Hartwig (most were probably 5.90+ at 23). Old ...

Re: USA List.. 6M-4.80M

I purposely did not add college age athletes to my list. They have their own issues to contend with and that is finishing college healthy. If they can make it 2 years out of college and still be jumping I'll add them to my list. As I said there is a hand full or more college and developmental guys w...

Re: USA List.. 6M-4.80M

Woman's Data A little Statistical Information of the 4.80 meter club. FYI this is based off the data I could find at All-Athletics.com. There may have been meets not on their lists competed at by the athletes. Therefore these figures may in fact be on the low end and could be higher even higher. Als...

Re: What Petrov said....!

Isn't this basically the same thing a couple of us have been saying. Except from the mouth of the God to some Petrov. "Although this pattern (MODEL) is based on biomechanical laws, differences in physique, physical fitness, psychological concentration abilities, and coordination skills lead to ...

Re: Pole vault research paper: influence of pole plant timing

The first major piece of the puzzle I would want to know before taking the research too far is the following. Position of COM in relationship to foot at TD and at PP. That would dramatically change the perception of some of the results. If Vaulter F though PP was early in stance, but if his COM was ...

Re: Keeping the Pot Boiling 2

To say it was cause he was 205 pounds is an excuse..... Stories I heard (many from him) he could hold his own in the gymnastics room at 205 pounds. Look at when Paul Turek was on Ninja Warrior at what 210 pounds. An athlete is an athlete I was just saying being able to invert like that at 205lbs is...

Re: Keeping the Pot Boiling 2

I would say both poles are still bent.... If Hartwig was straight his right hand would be significantly pulled left cause it is still straight and looks more right side of his body I would say it is still bent to how much would depend on more factors than appears. Question is at what degree of bent ...
