Re: Charlies Challenge

I wasn't given an order I was stating how you could go about proving your bold statements are in fact TRUE!!!!!! Trust me no one is doing this sport for the money... It doesn't exist. I would bet club coaches working with kids make way more money. I'll take your comment as point taken. Good luck to ...

Re: Charlies Challenge

The simple post shows Charlie doesn't know anything about what elites are doing in the Pole Vault or how challenging it is in comparison to new athletes who advance quickly for a reason. They are new!!! Linking taking a guy to 17' or woman to 14' to be the same as a guy to 19' or woman to 16' is sad...

Re: Pole Vault Combine

I wanted to do this post on a separate line because it could create problems. Altius brought up another point in regards to the Neuromuscular system. It has limitations and they are pretty concrete. There are ways around those limitations to prolong training. However, those ways will get you banned ...

Re: Pole Vault Combine

Altius.... That may have well been one of the best posts you have ever made. I sure hope a great majority of people can understand the message in the post. It is one of the intangibles. The great ones have and sadly can lose it just as fast. Case in point an athlete you mentioned Steve Hooker. Veloc...

Re: Pole Vault Combine

I would assume your prediction of velocity on the runway to be way off. He is near/over 9 m/s on this video not 8.5 m/s. He is running a lot faster than my athlete (a woman) on the runway. I didn't attend the meet and the angles are tough to see the markings on the ground so its hard to confirm that...

Re: Pole Vault Combine

His PR is actually 11.04 at the Bondoufle French Club Ch. meet in France on 22.05.2011 according to all-athletics.com. The 11.38 time in the 100 was from the 2013 season... Do you have post of the laser 60m dash video? Guy sprinting at near 10 - 10.2 m/s is a common thing in the US. Last year roughl...

Re: Pole Vault Combine

Benchmarks are in fact vital, but looking only at athletic marks in other events can be misleading. Let me make this case and tell me if these numbers are considered good by themselves. 100: 11.38 LJ: 7.19 JV: 38.86 400: 53.84 would you consider those numbers to be special athletically? BTW those ar...

Re: Stockholm Speigelburg 4.69 Silva Murrr Suhr 4.59

Speigelburg and Murer are on 4.60 poles. Silva on 4.45 poles.

Jen is a good guess from 4.75 to 4.90 poles.

Isi on 4.50 poles I heard once.

Re: pushing back out during the swing?

I would say the way that the given SS can get the ball to first base before the runner..... If we look at 5 Short Stops each SS may do it differently. If all 5 are Gold Glovers doing it differently than the next questions would be is it the way they get the ball to first base the important factor or...

Re: pushing back out during the swing?

The close relationship between these three activities - and the fact that this relationship is clearly understood by the athletes - along with the close time links involved - means that transfer of learning is more likely than not to occur. The key point is that athletes do not need to understand t...

Re: pushing back out during the swing?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91yDbVLzwHI just saw this. Short version of jump broken up. But you will notice no tuck for Renaud..... Seems to be a short approach jump for fun.... What we see isn't always the truth its just what is showing up at that moment in time. Learn movements not moments in t...

Re: pushing back out during the swing?

Why is the use of the bottom arm have to be so special and handled with a hands off approach? Is it because there is so much confusion and different theories as to what the bottom hand should be doing? It seems to me the real world and the very differences of opinion here and everywhere have certai...
