Re: Adult Michigander wishes to pole vault again
I've done the club thing too and it is highly effective. By far the best way to do it because the liability insurance policy is sent to and names the school from USATF's carrier.

Great to have you back and thanks for reading the blog. Daily pain and sufferring with an attempt to keep the bitching to a minimum! ;-) Both John Large and Howard Booth are champion level masters vaulters from Michigan and frequent this message board. I'm sure they can direct you! Have fun with it!...

You can also post this under your region on this message board. I know there is TONS of vaulting for masters in your area. I can think of five vaulters off the top of my head but I'm just not familiar enough with the area to advise. Have fun and welcome back. We have been waiting for you! Bubba

You know how it is Robert; if you stay quiet an accident could occur and the loser wins. I think you have to air it out. Good luck and keep us posted. Bubba

Re: Logan Cunningham (Texas State) eyes NCAA title
I don't doubt it. I jumped in San Marcos last month in the alumni meet and it was my first time to see him jump in person. Really fast and just flys off the pole. SUPER explosive. Stranger things have happened. For sure in the top 3.

Re: 40% of the top 20 ranked vaulters do not make National
The best US athlete may not even make the Olympic team. You have to be at your best that day. There are many arguments for and against but the Olympic Games don't discriminate - today is your day to shine or not. So why wouldn’t the Trials be that way; or NCAA? Someone big always slips down and some...

Re: The Official Flying with Poles Thread.
I paid $1,900 to ship mine to Sydney in 2009 for World Masters. Next year I'm going to Torino, Italy and Porto Alegre, Brazil, both small cities away from big airports. Makes me think even if I can get my poles to Rome or Sao Paulo I still have big problems on the last leg of both trips. Anybody fly...

I 100% agree with Becca. Work your way through your poles each day and see where you are without forcing the run. Bubba

Re: Weighing vaulters....
First, lonestar is my coach, so he's preaching to the choir with me. I've been vaulting since I was 12 and I'm now 58. He's my coach because I believe there are areas he certainly knows more than me. This subject is one of them. I personally jump in practice all of the time on poles below my weight ...
