Re: New Indoor PR- 15' 3"

Yo! I'm not sure which vaulter you were but thanks. It means a lot and i'm glad you learned some stuff. I still have a lot to work on as well. I see your PR is 13 so we both didn't do as well as w had hoped but I'm sure there are some positives for you after this meet. I know that i finally got to a...

New Indoor PR- 15' 3"

Hey guys. I jumped 15' 3" at our first indoor meet of the season. I'm a senior in high school. The video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiJXFlbYuU8 I'm running 6 lefts from 86 feet with my grip at 14' 4" using a 15' 180 (I believe it was this, it could have been a 175, I was runn...

Re: Eligibility Question.

Update: I have checked multiple sources. It is legal in Wisconsin and I would not lose any eligibility, also it is allowed by NCAA rules. The only stipulation made is that the competition must take place out of season.

Eligibility Question.

Hello, I am a senior in high school in Wisconsin. I am actively looking for meets in my area to compete at and sharpen up before my season starts in early March. I had the idea of going to D3 college meets or even D1 meets depending on the opening bar. I would be competing unattached or maybe with m...

State Meet

http://www.coachseye.com/3MWw This me at my state meet. I'm a junior. The bar is at 15 9, holding at 14 7 on a 15 7 175 from a six left approach. This was the state record for all of two minutes until another vaulter tied it and then broke it at 16. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Here is...

Re: Tilting My Head

I assume you mean throwing your head back when you swing up? If so then the only way that comes to mind to work on it without a pit would be too practice high bar swings, if you access to one of those. Also when you are in practice next and still are throwing your head back, tuck in your shirt and h...

Rising with back parallel to ground

I recently had a meet in which i PR'd. I recorded every jump I took with a bar and I compared it so tome elite status vaulters. When I vault, I rock back and then I 'stay'in that position with my back parallel to the ground. When I watch elite vaulters, their backs are only parallel to the ground fo...

Re: Caffeine

Pertaining to caffeine use, I occasionally get migraines and during a meet I got one. I ended up taking 200mg (about the equivalent of 4 Mountain Dew soft drinks) of caffeine in pill form to clear it up. It worked but about twenty minutes later my step started to back up wildly, i backed up three fe...
