Re: SKYDEX Soft Box

I have I skydex box at the high school I coach at, and I can tell you the thing is a piece of garbage. I am begging my athletic director to have the thing replaced with aluminum. Every coach in the county refuses to jump at my school for a good reason. the box itself is large but there is a nasty li...

Re: Any advice? 11' 130 pole bungee at 10 feet

You are an extraordinary strong athlete, it is amazing your PR is only 9'6. I suggest a pole that is 6 inches longer. If you stop the video when you can draw a line between your top hand and the box, your trail leg is bent. Lengthening the trail leg all the way through the swing will make the pole k...

Re: review my vault

A good vaulter can make a pole that is too light for them (within reason) work for them. Yes you are taking off under, but for now I am over looking that. If you are missing your down swing which is after takeoff, the pole will always flick you out no matter how well you get inverted (turn upside do...

Re: Moving forward

I am personally not a big fan of coaches pushing their athletes into the pit but it is not the worst thing in the world. Your hand placement and position is good but you are completely locked in the shoulders at take off. this slows the swing and forces the pole to unbend prematurely. Pay close atte...

Re: Need pole for pole vault Boys 15-16 age group

poles are specific to a vaulters size and weight. Buying poles used often takes time and you often have to drive some distance to get them. If you are looking for a stick that you need to have by this weekend, you will need to buy new. I recommend a Pacer One. These poles run very stiff i advise you...

Re: The gap between male and female vaulters

I have heard from one of my coach that when vaulting started for girls in high school over 10 years ago they had to compete with the boys, and it was still thought that vaulting for a girl would mess up their internal orgrans. Its cool to me how this mind set has progressed to a close hieght compari...

Creative solution for a Facility

Hi, I'm a high school vaulter in Northern VA, and there is a push in the local teams to find an indoor facility in my area. We can hall pits from the schools and buy a roll out run way to and indoor place but the issue still remains of finding somewhere that will allow us to do this. We once went to...

Re: In Need Of MAJOR Help :/

I suggest hanging a rope either in the basement or outside and practice getting vertical, I also recomend wind sprints on your own time.
