Poles and flex numbers.

Hi,

I was wondering if a flex number for a 4.9m pole continues on the 5m poles or do they have different flex ratings.

Example.

like a 4.9m 16.0 = 5m 16.0?
or is the 5m 16.0 stiffer?

OR

like a 5m 16.0 = 5.1m 16.0?

Thanks.

Optomizing penetration

What are ideal things to try to do when trying to optimize penetration? Plant tall and early, free take off, Drive, high COM, stay long, push up with both hands, swing long. shoulder flexibility? Strong explosive rowing motion to move the pole in mid air? Stay normal to the ground as long as possibl...

Re: Need Help Coachless

Thanks. I was wondering i thought that you shouldn't push forward when hitting the box when planting. I thought you must always and only push upwards with the plant. however i've been having trouble with that cause I dont think i have enough 'strength' to push my bottom hand up to bend the pole when...

Need Help Coachless

Hey I just got back to a 7L run and cause I dont have many poles. I was on a 5L run with a 14' 3'' 185 and jumped up to a 15' 6'' 175 flex 17.8 on 7L (which is the next pole we have after the 14' 3'' 185) right now im kinda scared to swing up but it would do wonders for me if you think im getting in...

Re: Take off Angle or Jump Angle

So let me clarify if i understand what ur saying. So the pole does make difference of the take off angle because the pole which wants to unbend to being straight is giving you a vertical velocity. and this happens right after take off or no? also I've analyzed and compared many vaults like lavilleni...

Take off Angle or Jump Angle

I was experimenting a little bit today with different take off angles from 3 lefts and i've noticed that a pretty low take off angle (20 degrees ish) helped me blow through the pole and helped me set up a better upward push with my hands allow a great leading chest and that a higher (30-45 degrees?)...

Re: Critique plz

That’s pretty good, definitely a good starting point... But now what I see is that your run is by far your biggest problem!! Figure out how to put a good run with that takeoff and you will be ready to jump high. In your run I see poor leaning forward posture, incorrect pole carry and drop.... This ...
