shipping Poles to NCAA Championships

If you can, avoid using FedEx Freight at all costs. Because Fly Away Poles is essentially out of business and we couldn't get on a southwest flight, one of our only options to move our 5m poles was to ship them with FedEx. Now we are at the national championships with a broken corrugated tube, rippe...

Re: Expo Explosion VI in TX: Barber makes 5.87!

Thanks for the link... Weird how he tries to hold the bar on with his left hand, on the 19'4" miss they show on the video.

Re: Should Shawn Barber's 5.87m Vault Count for any Records?

Not that it matters, because apparently Track & Field news keeps the records, but I found this on USTFCCCA.org while looking at the Bowerman Watch List... "The lone non-Semifinalist to join the list was Shawn Barber of Akron. Barber is also the only man on the list to have competed in 2014-...

Re: Expo Explosion VI in TX: Barber makes 5.87!

I thought the WR was at a single event meet. Too bad Bubka can't go back in time and change that rule ;)

Re: Expo Explosion VI in TX: Barber makes 5.87!

I believe after watching this video that he will jump this high or higher, this season. I hope that he does. He obviously is doing a lot of things right and is a very good pole vaulter, but this 5.87 jump should have been a miss, and there should never have been a mention of these two records being ...

Re: Expo Explosion VI in TX: Barber makes 5.87!

I have watched this video multiple times now and I think it is clear that he steadies the bar with his hand. You can turn your blinders on if you want, but this should have been a miss. Also the Canadians can let this mark stand if they want, but I know if this was IAAF or World Record it would be p...

Still here. I don't see how someone else breaking his record would change my opinion on that matter.

Re: Lavillenie vs Bubka

Had to happen - great jumping -but let the dust settle before you start claiming his technique is superior to SB. Just a thought - and spare one also for Petrov. He was always encouraging Sergey to go higher when he had the chance but as Sergei said the money was too tempting. He had to look after ...

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Rule Changes

I'm just glad wearing helmets is still optional. Our local Newspaper in Boise reported that they were now going to be required by the NCAA. It's good that pole vault was in the paper, but this time only i'm glad they got their information wrong.

Re: NCAA Indoor Predictions Top 3 men and women

Just heard Sam Pierson and Mike Arnold from Idaho State got in 5.35 (probably because that Joe guy isn't jumping). I watched them both barely miss 5.50 this year at a meet, So I am putting at least one if not both of those boys in MY top 3 picks. :D
