Blocking out?
i know there are many ideas of what blocking out is. Although there are so many posts that if there is a topic like this one, i'd appreciate if someone redirected me as i am very interested about this! I have been watching a vaulter recently, and to my knowledge it seems she isn't blocking out. But ...

Re: new pole and getting rejected
get a pole to move to in between poles. if you refer to the pole chart, the 14 150 is not equivalent.

Re: critique my jump!
hey, a few things i noticed. not saying to work on all these things at once. Your Approach, Work on your run, higher knee drive while running. build your run progressively as it seems a little like your settling your speed 2 lefts out. also, major, do not swing your arms back and forth. that is a ba...

Re: Bubka physics
also, keep in mind that whatever force is being applied, you need to take into account angle. Sure someone straight on can have a force = t. but your gonna want the individual X and Y components of the force and apply that to the bend of the pole because the way a flew machine works, it applies a fo...

Re: Bubka physics
flipping a coin at the apex, where the v=0 at the highest point in it s parabolic path, the acceleration is -9.8, but its kinetic energy is 0. this is bc KE(translational) = 1/2m(v)^2. The potential energy is at its max as PE = mgh. So at the apex thats where the PE is the greatest, but to consider,...

Re: first college meet. kentucky invite
Hey! From what i see, although i am not the most experienced vaulter, It seems to me that your run is lacking knee drive. A very smart coach had told me that your knees determine the direction of your vault. At take off and during your run, your legs cycle but your knees lack upward drive. It seems ...

Re: Review- Slow motion
yes, I agree with starkey, he proves a good point i overlooked. If you are able to efficiently convert your Kinetic energy to potential energy in the pole, you will in turn, have more kenetic energy response at the top of your vault with less energy loss! KE(initial) + PE = KE(final) + Energy loss B...

Re: Review- Slow motion
Looks to me that you are taking off a tick under. after you takeoff, to me it seems you hit your split, but as your proceed to invert then you bucket. By bucketing i mean your hips below your shoulders which isn't favorable. you want a constant motion vault meaning at no point is your back ever flat...
