Re: Wall behind pit?

Sounds like a job for a row of sandbags. :)

Walls or any structure at the rear of the pit are generally considered no-no's for safety.

Re: Transporting Poles on School Bus?

No, it's not generally illegal to have a pole bag in the bus aisle. You can't block the rear door, and you might want to strap it to 2 seat legs to prevent shifting.

And you might want to get a new driver, or have your AD explain it clearly to the existing one.

Re: Standard is stuck

you can usually take them apart, but I think your issue is if you live in a winter climate , then ice may have frozen and expanded inside the uprights. If so, they'll never work right again. You might try some heat to warm them up and then try to pull them apart. Or try liquid wrench and hose the ar...

I've used their on-line request 3 times so far, and I have NEVER gotten a reply back yet. That's just embarrassing for them.

Could be your shoes too. And they're often the last culprit to be looked at.

And I'd suggest NO needle spikes if you're wearing them.

Re: Pole Vault Scoring

That's an incorrect procedure.

The only time points are split is when the venue is unserviceable or unsafe, and points are split among participating schools but not the host since it is their fault in the first place.

Re: interpretation of rule change

I agree with Kirk. IF the weather causes an issue, I can see a "wind call". But you still have to make a conscious effort to push the pole in the opposite direction of your direction. We just had this at a NCAA II meet where a young lady knocked off the crossbar, and coaches cried "Wi...

Re: Is the Olympic Inflate & Go PV pit really legit?

"Meets NCAA, NFHS & IAAF rules". So does Athletic tape, so that's Doubtful at best for an inflatable pit. This pit is novel, but will present the same issues the Cloud9 did, only with newer materials, unless you can validate it actually works safely under ALL possible conditions. This ...
