Fundraiser for pole vault pit.

Hey guys. I was the 4A high school state champ for North Carolina this indoor season and part of the Lake Norman High School pole vault team, the number 1 team in the state thanks to our wonderful coach Eric Richard. We have 3 people over 13 feet and several on their way, and our pit is becoming dan...

Critique and help my vault

Hello again guys, I have some footage of my vault and I have been getting very frustrated recently. I have improved my collapsed arm problem, but I still slide under the pole and lean back and I don't know what to do. My coach tries to help but I don't know why but I cant do it. I vaulted 13'6 over ...

Re: Staying behind the pole.

Thanks Kirk! I have had a problem with collapsing that left arm and my coaches have been saying to keep it outwards, and when I watched clips of pros and elites, none of them have that arm collapsed, so I assumed I needed to keep it out.

Staying behind the pole.

Hey guys, I just wanted to see all of y'alls ideas for this. I have been working out and vaulting for most of indoor and I am seeing a lot of improvement, but my biggest problem is slipping under the pole. I always lean back and pull on the pull to get upside down and don't know how to fix it. My co...

Re: Vaulting heights

Thanks so much! This is exactly the kind of thing I needed!I think I have some spare bungees around that I could throw in, and next time I'm vaulting ill make sure to work on the lean and my arm. Thanks again!

Re: Vaulting heights

Thanks Kirk! I'm hearing a lot of what my coach has been telling me to work on. I have moved my step out a little, that jump was in. I ended up changing my form just like you said to get my chest up and shattered that pole. Thanks so much for the advice, I will definitely try work on it! What do you...

Re: Vaulting heights

Its not a club but we can vault and they have plenty of poles to progress on. Ill work on getting that vide...

Re: Body naturally turning to the right

Plant straight above your head. Move the pole straight up when you plant, do not bring it up in a circle around the side. Also, keep your arms straight in the vault. Most times I see people doing the "helicopter", its not planting straight above the head.
