19 young vaulters -> coach the coach!

Hi fellow Pole vault enthusiasts! A while ago, I posted some videos of one of my athletes and they were thouroughly discussed under http://www.polevaultpower.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=51322 I have a different question now. I have 19 young pole vaulters( age 10 - 17) who train under my super...

Nordic evolution vs pacer fx vs pacer mystic carbon

Hi guys, If I open a discussion which has already been settled, please forgive me and guide me in the right direction. My (young) athletes have been jumping with pacer fx up untill now. I was looking into pacer mystic carbon for the girls who are starting on 4meter poles. However they are not cheap....

Rope for swinging drill

Hi guys, I work at The University of Leuven (Belgium) and we just build a new athletics hall. We are looking to attach a rope for the drill you can see on the link below. https://www.instagram.com/p/8lQUjqI08E/ The roof is about 12 metres and I am trying to figure out what a good distance from the b...

Re: talented kid

@grandevaulter I fully agree but I see improvement. I am trying to get him more into the gymnastics room for swings on rope, high bar and rings. If he manages to keep his swing with straight leg longer, his hip will be in a better position upon extention. However, great execution at this age already...

Re: talented kid

Hello Grande, Well you should visit! ;) These are good working points! I try to teach them to take-off with high knee and the heel under the buttom. Preferably untill they are completely inversed with the knee always leading the movement. The trail leg (left in this case) should be extended from tak...

Re: talented kid

Hey guys, Not the best quality but i wanted to keep you up to date with his progression. We went back to 10 steps (used to be 12) to get a bit mare controll over his technique. Didn't really slow him down ... ;) he cleared 3m41 (11ft 2in) last week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUVNZTf9LLM Let me...

Re: talented kid

hi guys, I leave you guys for 1 Belgian night and you guys wrote me a small book! Shows how passionate you all are. It is a very interesting discussion because I have a clear image of what I want the jump to look like but I am getting a deeper understanding on why it should be like that. I must admi...
