Advice on my vault

In my second meet of the season, I finally PRed and jumped 13' on a 14' 170 pacer one from 7 lefts (bodyweight 160). This meet was a real morale booster since all of indoor I was constant in meets getting 12' - 12'6 because I wasn't quite comfortable and confident on the pole as I would always land ...

Re: Thoughts about my season/Off season training

Thanks for the reply 11' was from the beginning of the season and its currently 12'6 which also brings up a good issue of mine. In big invitationals pressure and being nervous always gets the best of me which ends up my form going to crap and me jumping tiny heights literally sitting over 10'6 11' b...

Putting it all together

Recently I've been making very good strides when it comes to technique with my row and swing. However I'm having trouble putting them together in a single vault. For example ill vault and have an amazing swing but hardly any row and vise versa. Currently my PR is 11ft but teammates and my coach keep...

Backyard drills

Over this weekend i built a DIY pole vault drill set by tying a horseshoes to a rope and throwing it up and over a tall and sturdy tree branch, then feeding PVC pipe through the rope to simulate a pole and tying it off so one can hang from it. As shown in the youtube vid you can see all the things o...

Re: Breaking in poles

Breaking in poles

To sum this up so its short, when i jump on a 13' 170 rocket (gripping at the top) i get so much bend that i cant use it (no heighted recently trying to use it in a meet). However when i try to move to a 14' 170 pacer still gripping at 13' i get little to no bend and i often end up stalling in midai...
