I'm not sure that the closing of the governments patent office would have discouraged innovation. Is there a formula or equation that relates to how high you can grip straight poling to how high you can hold with a normal bent pole? Example: If you can hold 12' straight poling, what could be a max grip height with a bent pole? Could it be factored by multiplying by a given number like 1.2 or 1....
