Re: Video Review of Cameron Meyer

Pardon me if I take this thread back to the original post. SFAPoleVaultDAD asked “What can my son do to improve?”. I can understand his desire to help his son, and everything about the vault is about getting higher. After looking at his college record and the vaults presented, it seems clear that th...

Re: For those not staying at the Nugget

For the record, I am staying at the Nugget and bring a vaulter from NZ. A first I believe.

Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record

PVstudent I have been reading your posts for some time and am an admirer of your approach to building a mathematical model of the modern pole vault. However, your attempt to fit the double pendulum to the real world leads to errors. Why? The modern vault is not a double pendulum as you are describin...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

"Sorry to rude DB but if you believe that there is more than one way to vault, is it reasonable to expect that this philosophy is being translated into producing vaulters in your green and pleasant land?" The message is the data. I'm just the messenger. Thank you A. Doug Balcomb PV Coach NZ

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

I would define a pull as one that lasted through the swing to inversion. walkers left arm flex seems to be a reaction to the take off much like Hookers. If you look at the left arm when the swing has begun ( when the trail leg is lined up with the right arm ) it is straight. This has been explained ...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

A look at the data Master You stated, “However, if you really analyze the "matrix" without looking at the images, but the data only, you will see beyond the bend deception:)” so I did. I measured the total time of the vault from toe off the ground to max height for Warmerdam, Gutowski, Bub...

Re: Super SL-MO vid

Nice vault. She works really well on the pole. In order to go higher she needs to get on bigger poles and hold higher. "Plant is low and that puts her take off under, but what else do you see GOOD or BAD?" Both arms are bent at take off and she gets too far in before loading the pole. Corr...
