It all begins with the first step!

I myself enjoy doing alot of video study and I've noticed many ways some of the worlds best vaulters begin their approach toward take-off. What I want to know specifically though concerns world class vaulters Jeff Hartwig, Derek Miles. Now I notice that each on(Miles and Hartwig) takes approx. 2 ste...

Re: What's the overall best school to vault at?

Real quick, I don't claim to know much about the best schools for the vault, but wouldn't it be advisable to go to a school with an individual vault coach? Someone who would be there to help you fix things without having the worry of the rest of the team on their other brain. Is this a good quality ...

You're right about Bubka in that stance. I have no doubt in my mind he would have set a much higher record(At least by a couple of inches) had it not been for his tendon, I just hope Brad doesn't go an get injured as hard as he's trying. We as vaulters do seem to get injured alot, no matter how smar...

I still don't think Brad's close to breaking the record, I mean, he just doesn'y look at the free take-off philosophy the way Bubka did. That;s what made Bubka such a great vaulter, he tried for a FT everytime he vaulted.

Standards at low bars.

Hey I'm a highschool vaulter for Permian Highschool in odessa Texas, recently I unfortunantly no highted at a meet, and the reason for this was my consistency on the ground. My coach argues that lowering the bar would help, however I've been coming in at high bars and clearing them with ease wheneve...
