Re: Video Review

That video with the "ostrich run" is super helpful I'm definitely going to incorporate it into my run hopefully that gives me some more control down the runway leading to a better vault. I get what you're saying about the swinging haven't done it enough for it to be second nature. Thanks f...

Re: Video Review

Thanks for the feedback you actually confirmed everything I've been trying to fix except for the left arm situation I actually thought I should work on it. You are definitely right I am aware that the bobbing while running is effecting my vault which is why I've been working on running with my left ...

Re: HELP NEEDED Invert, Arms and Consistency

No you do not want to drive your body through the pole, you want to push your hands up and swing your body long. Okay I see the issue with that. I have to really force that leg to be straight so that I can swing it. That tucking happens to me a lot too. Every time I am ready to whip instead of whip...

Re: African American Pole Vaulters

I'm an African American pole vaulter and I think the two biggest issues would have to be money and appeal. When I started vaulting in high school there was only one other person who ever did it at our school and he already graduated a few years earlier which meant no one cared about pole vault at ou...

Re: HELP NEEDED Invert, Arms and Consistency

I'm getting a 404 error on all your links. I switched out all the links for new ones to youtube hopefully that works. It's the chest driving forwards/upwards along with your trail leg stretched behind you - and then the whip of your trail leg - that will bend the pole - with most of the weight on y...

Re: Floor Drills

I don't know many drills you could do but in any case where I'm not able to go to a pit I find any highbars I can get to and do drills such as these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrH95QaNB2Y&index=18&list=PLsBC_YVp6r3QUVoLFbXp9TXFJFr9x6qMU Ever since I started doing these drills I've seen...

HELP NEEDED Invert, Arms and Consistency

Currently a college freshman(haven't competed in college yet): 148 lbs 5'8 I'm currently using a 165lb 13'1 Essex Recoil pole with my grip varying from 12'3-12'6 My best jump so far has been 12'6 unofficially but I've been having problems with consistency. I've been working with my High school coach...
