Re: Olympics!! How to watch/follow in the USA
Just watched the Women's final, great jumping ! Congrats to the medal winners. I thought all the Women jumped well except Suhr who was ill. Fine Competition. I fear we are about to lose a lot of the old school Women. Isinbeyava, Boyd, Suhr, Sylva, Strutz, Murer. I'm hoping they'll compete in the las...

Re: Olympics!! How to watch/follow in the USA
Why the Pass?, I guess you mean Braz at 5.98. When RL cleared it put Braz behind on misses, so jumping the 5.98 bar would still put him in 2nd. RL looked sharp, he was jumping great. He was clearly rattled when Braz cleared 6.03 otherwise I think He'd have made it himself. Kendricks had some great a...

Re: Da Silva ???
That was quite the finish to steal the Gold from Lavillinie. Amazing jump! I've never seen a guy flag off the top and still jump 6.0 meters. I wonder what his grip was on that jump?
RL had lot's of hip ht on 6.03 shows lots more to come.

Re: Olympics!! How to watch/follow in the USA
i watched the nbcolympics stream and the iaaf live results page on my phone to keep up with both groups. I was disappointed to see Wojek go out as he could have been a factor in the finals.
Looks like Lavillinie, Barber, and Kendricks for top 3,

Re: WC 2015 - Beijing
Nice video there PVStudent. First thing that jumps out at me is that Murer is gripping much higher, on perhaps 157 poles?

I did see Lavillinie's 5.80 clearance was huge, what happened at the next bar? Barber had 3 or 4 inches on 5.90.

Re: WC 2015 - Beijing
now for the women.... I'll pick Silva, Suhr Sidorova, Morris, Murer, and Kyriokopoulou. 4.70 to be in top 6. 4.75 1st attempt to be top three if the ht progressions go that way. Silva's Athleticism vs Suhr's Experience vs Sidorova's youth and technical excellence. Should be a good battle. I'm also r...

Re: WC 2015 - Beijing
Congrats to Barber, that must be a first, a Canadian PV World Champ ! He jumped well, no misses until 6.0 m. Lavillinie opened at 5.80, 1st attempt clearance. Out at 5.90, 4 jumps total. I don't think he had enough jumps to fine tune everything. I think the large height increments changed the result...

I'll take a stab at the top 8 Gonna be a great show !
top 3 Lavillinie Barber Lisek over 5.90 in that order.
Holzdeppe and Wojciechowski and Kendricks battle for next 3 positions 5.80 or better. 4th will be 5.85

Qualifying finished, 16 over 5.70. , Fillipidis and Braz are gone, as is Walker. http://www.iaaf.org/competitions/iaaf-world-championships/15th-iaaf-world-championships-4875/news/report/men/pole-vault/qualification Among notable casualties of the qualification were the South American record holder T...

Re: Preview of IAAF Men's PV Bejing 2015
I second your picks, seems logical. Do we know the height progressions? that could be a factor. Didn't Holzdeppe beat Lavillinie on misses at one meet? A jump of around 5.90 on a first attempt could beat Lavillinie if he's off just a bit. I would look for either Holzdeppe or Barber as being likely i...

Re: Men's World Rankings 2015
I'm not completely sure either but I'd suspect that it means bet 9 dollars on Lavillinie to win 1 or 1 on Shaun Barber to win 5 in the Match Bet. Oddsmakers thnk Barber is the best competition for Renauld, that tells me he's made his mark ! If you were a betting person, the Barber or Holzdeppe might...
