Re: pushing back out during the swing?

...All the force from the run up has got to be exchanged to the vaulter/pole system and is obviously the BEST place and time to do it. Not only is it not passive, it is in fact ACTIVE! It is active because it is virtually loading (Stretching) every muscle fiber in the human body from the top hand t...

Re: pushing back out during the swing?

I maintain that as long as you're ALWAYS MOVING - including stretching to the C and popping elastically back out again - the movement is not passive. Same goes for the downswing. It may APPEAR to be a motion in the wrong directions (rotationally, rather than upwards), but as long as you're ALWAYS M...

Re: pushing back out during the swing?

I do like MIchelle Favre's technique, and I can appreciate why that might be called a 640 Model technique. However, she does stretch to C (slightly) after takeoff, and she does have a downswing before her upswing. Maybe not as pronounced as Bubka, but it's still there. I would say that she needs to...

Re: m640 Pole Plant

I have been noticing a lot of talk about your 640 Model. And I have to admit I am a bit skeptical of what it might be you are teaching that is so for lack of a better term "revolutionary." I am a student of many styles of the vault but a master of none. I carry a passion about the sport w...

Re: What’s the deal with Pole Carry?

I realise that the complexities of the English language are a bit beyond a former T72 tank driver but I wish you hadn't done it because you will only encourage these folk to indulge themselves yet again in claim, counter claim, counter attack and so on. Re your site - I only can only tell everyone c...

What’s the deal with Pole Carry?

We know there is a certain outcome when we multiply 2x2 and the answer is always 4. Is there a certain way to carry the pole on the runway? What are the things one should consider? After all, if we attempt to train that element, we all need to know what we are trying to achieve. There are a variety ...

Re: What are coaches looking for from PVP?

I know I personally joined to few videos and analysis of vaults. I learn best from watching and reading what others have to say. I like to see videos of the drills people are doing that I could possibly include in my program. Being a high school coach in Ohio, track season is short due to weather. ...

m640 Pole Plant

I have just published a new member section "Pole Plant" on http://www.m640.com. Here is a lead to the section: The pole plant is one of the two most complex actions in the event, second being the transition into the “rotation acceleration” at the end of the takeoff jump. The more we could ...
