Re: Sprint Spikes for Pole Vault.

Shoe companies spend millions of dollars on research. There is soo much more that goes into shoe design that 99% of the population knows. The center of gravity of an athlete is different when carrying a pole vs sprinting. That changes the way you run. I don't think that is a debatable truth. I can o...

Re: Advice on Plant

You need to drive your top had up more at the takeoff....I see the end of the pole facing toward the ground at takeoff and that tells me you need to move your top hand more

If you have poles and pits, just make a runway in your yard.

Re: one in a million?

Kyle,

I would think as long as you feel she isn't loosing speed with the decreased stride length, there wouldn't be a huge push to move her step.

Her takeoff angle looks fine as well.

I would agree with you that an athlete taking off that far out is not common.

Re: Catching up to the pole uncoling

We have a really nice progression of poles that will allow that to happen. In fact, at the next height I wanted him to move up to the 15 185 and grip up since his standards were so deep..now I was coaching through texts at this meet, and he went to a 15' 6" 180 because he didn't bring the 15' p...

Catching up to the pole uncoling

I just need some reassurance on what I am thinking. I have a vaulter who feels like (and looks like) he is not in the correct position to drive his hips up during the top of the vault. He states that the pole "uncoils really fast". In watching video of him, I can see that the pole is at ne...
