that sucks, i'm sorry!! yeah, saturday was a pretty bad day for vaulting... i've had more success vaulting in the snow back up north. i'm hoping for better weather this upcoming saturday cuz we have another home meet.

well, i was just checking track results in the chicago tribune and jake winder is listed as having won the pole vault at his meet with a jump of 19'6"...jake is an amazing vaulter but i'm thinking this is maybe a typo?? does anyone know what really happened at this meet? could they have meant 17'6"?...

yes, there is such thing as an early plant. it can take away from your vault, as an early plant can cause you to lose speed in the last steps of your run. pole plants and sliding box would help. also, counting your steps (lefts) outloud as you come down the runway will give you a better idea of the ...
