Re: Good way to train without practice?

Poles, even old poles are expensive. Also even if i could get my hands on one, i doubt i have room in my house to store one. Does this sound OK? just to keep me in shape until season starts? Every morning i will sprint high knees upstairs, about 15 times on a 5 step staircase. Do drills like high kn...

Good way to train without practice?

Throughout the summer i am unable to practice.. I do not have access to gym because they are too expensive. What are some workouts i can be doing at home to keep me in shape and get me into better shape? I have a pull up bar, but no weights. I have about an hour every morning i can use for sprinting...

Re: Whats wrong?

when you run from your shorter approachese use a softer pole and lower your grip so you can get a better technique and penetration. I would give you other advice however i am unsure if it would contest with what your coach teaches.

Re: How to run from 7-lefts, and drop the pole?

Re: Getting Out of a Slump

This does not answer your question but where do you vault? Like what state? I have never been to a meet with heights like 4ft or 5'6", i find it pretty interesting. Where i am from they start at 6, then the state and county meets start at heights like 6'6" or even 7'6". I like that so...

Re: How to run from 7-lefts, and drop the pole?

well my coach wants me to eventually jump from sevens in meets and grip me up so i think he is starting me with them now so when i am gripping higher and jumping higher, i will easily be able to transition into sevens. I think that they are useful no matter what grip though as long as you can increa...

Re: How to run from 7-lefts, and drop the pole?

Thanks! My 7 lefts aren't necessarily slower, but i still need to get the correct "rhythm" down on how to run them i guess.

How to run from 7-lefts, and drop the pole?

I am getting pretty frustrated. I have great 3 left approaches. I have been wrapping 11ft with a 9'3" and 9'6" grip from 3 lefts. When i move back to a five i grip 10ft sometimes 10'3" i can sometimes wrap 12ft. However, even though i am gripping a foot higher, 12ft is ALOT more diffi...

Re: Whats wrong?

Since you are 25lbs heavier, it may be more difficult for you to pull yourself up. To clear 8ft an acceptable grip is 9'9", and you are gripping 9'6", so you need to get yourself up more weather you are taught to pull or not. If you can do at least one or two chin ups, you should be able t...
