Pole Vault Summit 2024 elite competition information!
The elite competitions begin at 7:30pm Pacific. There is also a second men’s group which will begin at 6:30pm.

I won’t make it to the Annual Meeting this year because my son passed away a few weeks ago, but please keep me posted if anything interesting happens!
In 1901 some felt that women high jumping and pole vaulting was vulgar!
Over the next few decades, high jumping was deemed feminine enough and pole vaulting too manly.
There were girls and women pole vaulting in the early 1900s.
It could have become an acceptable event for women, but a few men decided against it and women did not pole vault for another 70+ years.

Chad Kelsey is a pole vaulting coach in Kansas who was arrested Wednesday and is being charged with rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, two counts of unlawful sexual relations and two counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
The captain of the Paola Police Department says that the investigation revealed a pattern of grooming by Chad and while they have allegedly found two victims so far, they believe there could be more.
Paola police asked anyone with information to contact detective Zachary Mathies 913-259-3631.
